Job Purpose
The Transportation Coordinator role is responsible for ensuring that the PS&P Division's Power Equipment transportation model is properly executed and maintained on a daily basis. Responsibilities include the daily management and assignment of all inbound, direct ship (DS), less-than-truckload (LTL), and truckload (TL) shipments, proactively serving as the primary contact between American Honda and its transportation service carriers, supporting final destination customers with delivery and claims assistance, and acting as a liaison for internal Sales and Seihan groups.
Key Accountabilities
- Meet or exceed delivery time expectations.
- Control outbound freight expenses.
- Improve customer experience and operational efficiencies.
- Improve Honda's environmental impact.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.
Minimum Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in distribution or a related business field.
- ERP system experience with knowledge of the SAP distribution model.
- Transportation Management System (TMS) experience preferred.
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of logistics, distribution, and transportation operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
