SAP ABAP Consultant designs, develops, and supports custom programs, reports, and interfaces for SAP systems. Key duties include building RICEFW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms), writing technical specifications, and debugging code
Role and Responsibilities
- Development: Build custom reports, dialog programs, smart forms, and Adobe forms.
- Enhancements: Write user exits, BADIs, and enhancement framework changes.
- Integration: Connect SAP with other systems using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and OData services.
- Optimization: Tune code performance using tools like SQL Trace and runtime analysis.
- Collaboration: Work with functional teams to turn business needs into technical designs. [1]
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Core Skills: Strong expertise in SAP ABAP, Object-Oriented ABAP, and the DDIC data dictionary.
- Advanced Tech: Knowledge of S/4HANA, CDS views, AMDP, and OData/Fiori is a major plus.
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 8+ years of hands-on SAP development experience.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
