AWM Controls Strategy & Innovation (CSI) – AI Controls Enablement Lead (Associate)
As an AI Controls Enablement Vice President in Controls Strategy & Innovation, you will help translate complex AI risks into practical business and controls solutions. You will work at the intersection of Controls, Business, and Technology, partnering with stakeholders to identify risks, develop scalable solutions, and strengthen control environments. You will help make technical AI concepts understandable and actionable while contributing to the future of AI-enabled controls. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence how AI is adopted across the organization.
On any given day, you may conduct a joint risk review with a Control Manager, bringing technical expertise while they own the controls finding. You will act as a co-developer, coach, and gatekeeper across Controls, Technology, and the business, making the invisible visible and the technical actionable.
This role provides significant exposure to senior Controls leadership and senior business stakeholders, positioning you to influence how Controls builds and deploys AI-enabled solutions for the business. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in risk or control management within financial services, with a focus on compliance and operational risk mitigation.
- Technical AI fluency with an understanding of how AI models work, including their assumptions, limitations, and failure modes.
- Ability to translate complex technical AI behavior into documented, actionable risk findings within a controls framework.
- Capability to implement robust controls to safeguard business operations and meet regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in process and data analysis to enhance control environments and interpret business needs and trends.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with senior Controls leadership and business stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with the ability to develop compelling executive presentations.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Hands-on experience with AI and large language model (LLM) tools, ideally on low-code or approved development platforms, with an instinct for identifying design risks early.
- Experience with automation platforms such as Python, UiPath, Pega, or other workflow, process, and decision automation tools.
- Relevant AI and cloud certifications, such as NVIDIA-Certified Associate: Generative AI and LLMs (NCA-GENL) or AWS Certified AI Practitioner.
- Familiarity with the AI regulatory and policy landscape, model releases, and AI incident trends, with the ability to assess their control implications.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change.
- Ability to operate with minimal direction while consistently delivering results and making decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
