Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
The Application Control Specialist is accountable for end-to-end compliance for specific applications. The candidate would participate in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.
Monitoring/completing application deliverables identified in the Risk Integration and Support Environment tool (RISE)
Monitoring/managing mitigation of Vulnerabilities identified in Continuous Monitoring (CM)
Maintaining accuracy of application data (AppHq)
Ensuring GIS Security requirements are current
Maintaining documentation to support approval processes and raising risk artifacts aligned to specific applications
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining applications in compliance with both external regulation and Bank internal mandates.
Manage assigned application servers to keep up to date with software updates and vulnerability remediation, including rehosting projects to update infrastructure and monitoring of server capacity and performance
Manage, lead and direct the work efforts of teammates and other resources to deliver required risk deliverables.
Contribute to the maintenance and execution of technical recovery plans
Work with Information Security partners to plan solutions and resolve complex vulnerabilities
Manages and coordinates activities with vendors, contractors or other IT partners involved in the application’s functional upgrades, production issue resolution and regulatory updates, ensuring SLAs are met.
Establishes routines to monitor and resolve required deliverables for application governance
Maintains up to date information regarding the application in all the required systems of record regarding permissions, interphases, connectivity, servers, used technology, etc.
Acts as an SME on the applications under his/her management
Acts in coordination and provides support to other application managers on common issues
Required Qualifications:
Strict adherence to framework for managing and governing risk and control activities
Ensure compliance with standards for risk management
Identification, response, and remediation for risk deliverables within specified timelines
Identify and remediate vulnerability, application/platform issues within specified timelines
Appropriate escalation of control gaps and issues
Create/manage metrics, provide transparency, and lead remediation of risk activities
Adhere to, update, and/or create processes, internal controls, and procedures
Maintain up to date status and reporting for on–demand review with peer groups, leadership, and Global Information Security
Excellent oral and written communication
