Together, we can build the future of data storage.Job DescriptionWestern Digital is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Quality Engineer to support and enhance our quality systems across the product lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.You will partner cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to drive continuous improvement, strengthen quality processes, and support compliance with global standards.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Planning & SystemsDevelop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans, inspection procedures, and documentationEnsure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and internal quality frameworksSupport the continuous evolution of quality management systemsAuditing & ComplianceConduct internal audits to assess process adherence and identify improvement opportunitiesSupport external audits, including supplier and customer auditsDrive corrective and preventive actions based on audit findingsQuality Reporting & AnalyticsDefine, track, and analyze key quality performance indicators (KPIs)Prepare and present reports to management with actionable insightsLeverage data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunitiesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales teamsEnsure quality is embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle—from design through production and deliveryAct as a key interface between technical and business stakeholdersProcess Monitoring & Continuous ImprovementMonitor production processes and identify defects or deviationsLead root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives using structured methodologiesQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical fieldExperienceProven experience in quality assurance or quality engineering, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environmentTechnical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including:FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)Six Sigma / Lean methodologiesSPC (Statistical Process Control)8D problem-solving processFamiliarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesHigh attention to detail and process disciplineExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional, global teamsLanguagesBusiness fluency in German and English (written and spoken)Additional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and...
