What we're looking for
We're looking for a Junior Account Executive to join DLPR's financial services team in a full-time hybrid role.
You'll help develop and run media relations work for financial and professional services clients, securing coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and podcasts.
The strongest candidates bring a solid grounding in finance or capital markets and some real media relations experience, with a knack for turning complex topics into clear, sharp stories.
What you'd do
- Pitch story ideas to top-tier and trade media, and follow up to land coverage.
- Build and keep up relationships with journalists and media contacts.
- Draft materials like press releases, media pitches, Q&As, op-eds, and talking points.
- Help prep clients for interviews by putting together briefing documents and sharpening key messages.
- Monitor financial and industry news for timely opportunities to bring to clients.
- Track how coverage performs and use what you learn to shape the next round of pitching.
- Support account teams day to day and pitch in with ideas.
- Work with colleagues on thought leadership and integrated campaigns that support client goals.
Why we want you
- You've got a solid grounding in finance and capital markets, enough to understand what clients do and help shape how they talk about it.
- You can read market trends and make sense of client data and media results.
- You write clearly and present with confidence, and you can turn complex financial subjects into something a general audience follows.
- You've got real media relations experience, ideally in financial PR or business journalism, including building reporter relationships and landing earned placements.
- You can juggle multiple accounts and deadlines while keeping a professional, client-first approach in a hybrid team.
- You have a Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, journalism, finance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Bonus points if you know your way around:
- digital and social media platforms
- media monitoring tools
- the basic metrics used to measure PR performance
What we offer
- Friendly and highly collaborative working environment where your voice will be heard and your ideas will count.
- Opportunity to work with leading financial, law and professional services firms on a global scale within an international network.
- A focus on growth and professional development: twice annual professional planning sessions, regular access to leadership and mentorship opportunities.
- Hybrid work schedule; two days in the office with three optional work-from-home days per week.
- $175 one-time stipend for your at-home work set-up; $50 monthly stipend for your smartphone contract and a stipend to upgrade your device every three years.
- Competitive salary and customizable benefits package including:
- 100% company paid health, dental and vision insurance coverage
- 401k with competitive company match
- Employee Assistance Program and free annual membership to the Calm app
- Ample time off: 10 vacation days, 10 annual company holidays, nine days paid sick leave, one personal day and an “on call” period between Christmas and New Year’s.
- Thorough onboarding and training process that extends throughout your tenure with the company.
