Job Description
Founded in 1979, ASEM has actively participated in the evolution of digital information technologies and today we operate in the markets of Industrial Automation, Test, Measurement with a complete range of industrial PCs and monitors and a complete range of HMI, control, remote assistance, and Industrial IoT gateways, characterized by our own hardware, firmware, software, mechanical and system design capability.
Since 2020 we have been part of the American multinational group Rockwell Automation, a player operating in the industrial automation sector with headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA).
As a Team Lead, you will report to the Engineering Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Artegna, Italy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and debug UEFI-based firmware (BIOS) to support product and technology development goals.
- Manage BIOS feature development, including issue tracking, investigation, and bug fixes.
- Debug complex firmware issues across the stack.
- Follow customer-specific coding standards and participate in code review processes.
- Collaborate with teams to bring up systems, validate platforms, and evaluation issues.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the role
- C/C++ programming skills; scripting experience in Bash, Python and PowerShell.
- Understanding of AMI Aptio V and EDK2 development, and industry-standard specifications such as UEFI and ACPI.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Expertise in embedded platform interfaces, including PCIe, USB, SPI, SMBus, UART, and Ethernet controllers.
- Debugging and problem-solving skills across HW/FW/SW boundaries, with collaboration across hardware teams.
- Understanding of system security features, including:
- Secure and verified boot
- Firmware signing
- TPM/ROT and SPDM
- Vulnerability management and large-scale system hardening
