Senior Associate | International Tax - National Tax Office

CBIZ is seeking an International Tax Senior Associate to join our National Tax Office (NTO) team. NTO serves as the firm's centralized group of tax subject matter experts, providing technical leadership, complex transaction support, and guidance across specialized areas of tax. As part of this national practice, you will work alongside experienced international tax professionals on multinational client engagements, cross-border tax planning, compliance, and consulting projects. This role offers exposure to complex international tax matters, collaboration with specialists nationwide, and opportunities for continued technical and professional growth.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Assist with international tax consulting and planning engagements involving multinational organizations and cross-border transactions.
Conduct technical research on U.S. international tax matters, including foreign tax credits, GILTI, Subpart F, and treaty issues.
Prepare and review international tax compliance filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, and related disclosures.
Analyze financial and tax data to identify planning opportunities and potential tax risks.
Prepare client deliverables, technical memorandums, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with engagement teams across the firm to address complex international tax issues.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting international taxation.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Participate in professional development, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification.
- 2–4 years of public accounting experience with exposure to international tax.
- Experience with international tax compliance and tax research software.
- Experience serving multinational clients or working on cross-border tax engagements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field
- CPA candidates preferred
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
