The opportunity

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact.

We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions.

How you’ll make an impact

  • You will be taking complete responsibility for the tenders prepared with appropriate input from the different stakeholders of the team in-line with LOM Tendering process seeking necessary input from the stakeholders.

  • You will be understanding the Sales process, Sales tools & techniques, Market & Business Intelligence, Sales drive. Supporting sales strategy & facilitating capture team selling and knowledge in assessing the pre-qualification requirements and supporting the Sales team for Bid/No Bid decision.

  • You will create and review Tender Solution Strategy. Target Pricing and complete Understanding of Single line diagrams & Equipment arrangement layouts. Reviewing the proposals towards optimized and customized solutions for various substation tenders (AIS, GIS, Hybrid). Innovative ideas to prepare a cost-effective solution.

  • You will support technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc with minimal support from Engineering team.

  • You will collaborate with SCM with a good understanding about strategic sourcing and do Vendor Offer evaluations. Finalize the tender sourcing plan appropriately.

  • You will analyze the risk probability & severity of the tenders from technical, commercial, contractual perspectives & drive the mitigation strategy liaising with the different disciplines. Should be handling the risk review process and getting the approval from different management levels based on the tender volume & the risks involved Review Cash flow documents and the inputs from Contracts & legal teams and take conclusive decisions during submissions

  • You will directly be responsible for the complete documentation for respective tenders as per the client requirement Handing over the awarded projects to the respective project managers.

  • You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Bachelors Engineering.

  • Atleast business level in both Japanese and English is required.

  • Required with 0-3 years’ experience.

  • Knowledge of Hitachi Energy Products & System offerings), experience and skill to prepare and support Bid Process.

  • Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial)

  • Individual contributors using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized tenders and challenges often think independently to challenge traditional solutions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization, works independently, applying established standards.

  • Excellent English speaker, good communication skills.

  • Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization. High level of ownership.

  • Team player, ready to play the role across the different countries.
