The state also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.Job DescriptionBasic PurposePosition is assigned responsibilities involving the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, controls, fixtures and related equipment in facilities.Compensation: $55000.00Typical FunctionsServices, maintains and repairs HVAC systems that control temperature, humidity, air-flow and air-filtering in all types of commercial and light-commercial buildings.Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.Performs scheduled and routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems for the purpose of ensuring life-cycle operation of these systems.Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, equipment and refrigerant logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.Orders and maintains equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.Inform supervisor regarding status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making purchasing and scheduling decisions.Level DescriptorEducation and ExperienceCurrent Mechanical Journeyman licenseKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and CompetenciesKnowledge of the operation of a variety of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems; of the methods, materials, fixtures, tools and equipment utilized in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance; and of standard safety precautions in the trade.  Ability is required to maintain and repair various types of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.  Ability to install various types of heating and air conditioning components and in providing guidance and training to assigned work crews.Special RequirementsLicenses/Certificates required:   Mechanical JourneymanPhysical Requirements: Applicant must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 40 poundsApplicant must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (over 95 degrees F and below 20 degrees F).Applicant must be able climb ladders and stairs.Conditions of Employment:Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background checkContingent on passing a pre-employment drug & alcohol screeningConsidered essential personnel (work during inclement weather)Available to work if called in due to an emergencyNon-exempt FLSA statusMust maintain a valid driver’s licenseTobacco and Vape free facilityMechanical Journeyman license and EAP certification or the ability to obtain these licenses within the first 12 months of employmentTravel throughout the state is required with overnight staysT1 security clearance (eligibility for national security positions shall be granted to persons who are U.S. citizens)This position is federally funded and contingent on continuous federal fundingAdditional Job DescriptionEqual Opportunity EmploymentThe State of Oklahoma...
