What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a skilled P21 & IT Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert for our Epicor Prophet
21 ERP system while providing junior-level network administration and infrastructure support. In this role, you
will support the ongoing configuration, optimization, and user support of P21 across IMS, alongside managing
basic network health, connectivity, and local hardware. The ideal candidate combines strong technical ERP
knowledge with a solid understanding of distribution business processes and foundational networking skills.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table:

Required Skills:
● 3+ years of hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) in a system administrator, analyst, or
specialist capacity.
● Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs) and
experience troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues.
● Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining standard network hardware (switches, routers) and
endpoints.
● Strong understanding of distribution business processes including order management, inventory
control, purchasing, and accounts receivable/payable.
● Experience with P21 configuration, module setup, and user administration.
● Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures for data analysis, database
maintenance, and custom report development.
● Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a DBA-support role, including database
maintenance, backups, and performance tuning, ideally within a SQL Server environment.
● Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions and process improvements.
● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
● Effective communication skills to work cross-functionally with non-technical stakeholders.
● Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related
field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:
● CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent foundational networking certification.
● Experience with P21 upgrades or full system implementations.
● Knowledge of EDI, API integrations, or third-party system integrations with P21.
● Familiarity with Crystal Reports, SSRS, or other reporting tools used in conjunction with P21.
● Experience in healthcare distribution, medical devices, or a regulated distribution environment.
● Epicor P21 certification or formal Epicor training.

Certifications:
● Epicor P21 Certification (Preferred)
● Network+ or CCNA (Preferred)

Responsibilities

How You’ll Make an Impact:
● Serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert for Epicor Prophet 21 (P21),
ensuring optimal system performance, database health, and availability.
● Configure and maintain P21 system settings, user roles, pricing structures, and workflows aligned
with business needs.
● Monitor and troubleshoot basic network connectivity (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN) to ensure
uninterrupted end-user access to P21 and local network resources.
● Assist with the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of networking hardware including switches,
routers, firewalls, and network peripherals (e.g., warehouse barcode scanners, label printers).
● Partner with department stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and
implement P21 solutions to improve operational efficiency.
● Lead and support P21 upgrades, patches, and system enhancements, coordinating with IT,
infrastructure teams, and Epicor support as needed.
● Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and data extracts using P21 reporting tools and
SQL queries.
● Train and support hybrid and on-site end users across sales, operations, finance, and customer
service in the effective use of P21 modules and basic remote access tools.
● Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, network data bottlenecks, data discrepancies, and user-
reported errors in a timely manner.
● Document system configurations, network topologies, IT processes, and standard operating
procedures related to P21 and infrastructure maintenance.
● Evaluate new P21 features and modules, recommending adoption where they align with business
goals.
