Pay Information
$46,600 - 69,900 annual salary
Job Purpose
The Product Testing Technician II supports PS&P product development by performing product validation testing and engineering support activities that help ensure new products meet customer requirements, Honda quality standards, and customer satisfaction goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform product validation, durability, strength, and functional testing according to approved test plans, Honda standards, and project requirements.
- Set up, operate, tear down, and maintain test fixtures, equipment, machines, and instrumentation to support accurate and repeatable testing.
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and support maintenance of test units, including power products, powersports equipment, and related components.
- Maintain test areas, shop organization, machine inventory, grass test fields, sprinkler systems, and equipment readiness to support safe and efficient testing operations.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent in related field
Minimum Experience:
- 3 to 5 years related experience preferably in Power Products or Powersports
Other Job-Specific Skills:
- Working knowledge of product validation, durability, strength, and functional test methods, including the ability to follow approved test plans and Honda standards.
- Ability to set up, operate, troubleshoot, tear down, and maintain test fixtures, equipment, machines, and instrumentation to support accurate and repeatable testing.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience assembling, disassembling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing power products, powersports equipment, lawn mowers, automobiles, 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, or similar equipment.
- Experience safely operating riding, zero-turn, and walk-behind lawn mowers, as well as chainsaws, trimmers, edgers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and similar equipment used in field and product testing.
- Ability to maintain organized test areas, shop inventory, grass test fields, sprinkler systems, tools, and equipment readiness to support safe and efficient testing operations.
- Basic fabrication skills to create or modify test benches and fixtures, including milling, lathe operation, welding, waterjet cutting, drilling, cutting, sanding, and related methods.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work, coordinate daily testing activities, and support a small team to maintain schedule, job quality, and project targets.
- Computer skills sufficient to document test activity, communicate by email, maintain records, and use Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience driving pickup trucks and trailers to transport machines, parts, tools, and test equipment as needed.
Working Conditions
Travel: Amount varies based on project demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.
Physical: Splits time between desk and shop working with the actual machines. Kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, or bending required. Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
Hazards: Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. May be exposed to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.
Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety department, and company policies, procedures, and rules.
