Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our SWAT RN, you will help clinical teams manage high-acuity events and unit workflows so they can deliver rapid, expert, and coordinated emergency care to every patient.

Every day you will respond to rapid response teams, code blues, and code strokes, provide advanced vascular access, and conduct proactive rounds across all nursing units. You will be expected to lead critical situations, mentor staff, and drive clinical quality metrics.

To be successful in this role, you must possess advanced emergency nursing experience, strong critical care and vascular access skills, and maintain current NIHSS certification.

  • Respond to and lead hospital-wide rapid response, code blue, and code stroke calls as the primary clinical responder

  • Perform advanced vascular access and USPIV placements while troubleshooting related devices

  • Conduct proactive walkthrough rounds on all nursing units at least twice per shift to assess department needs and coordinate resources

  • Mentor and coach nursing staff on competencies, documentation, equipment use, and quality metrics

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree of Nursing
  • Two (2) years of ICU or SWAT experience
  • Valid compact state or Arizona RN license
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification

Preferred

  • Three (3) years of ICU experience
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute (CCRN)
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) 
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
