The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student Engineer for John Deere Golf located in Fuquay Varina, NC, you will:
• Work within a global cross-functional team to define specifications and develop solutions to complicated problems to improve cost, quality and/or performance on future and current product projects • Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions, rationale, and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document design solutions • Provide engineering support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, supply management, and PV&V organizations

What Skills You Need
• Ideally, you will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Agricultural, Systems); others may apply
• 1 or more years of CAD (Solid Modeling) and GD&T • 1 or more years of mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and powertrain systems • 1 or more years of product engineering experience in off road commercial vehicles or automotive • Basic knowledge of PDM and SAP software and systems • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, and drive consensus with multiple different teams simultaneously • Ability to devolve high-level direction into executable tasks
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
• Graduation date of Spring of 2027 or later
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
• Work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
• Must be able to commute to the Fuquay-Varina, NC work location on a daily basis

• Professional mowing experience • Experience designing vehicle systems or subsystems • Experience using PTC Creo • Experience with systems engineering • Experience with engine systems • Knowledge of FEA, ADV, and stress test procedures • Experience in SAP • Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Technology Development process (ETDP) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP)
