Position Summary

Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties for the office of Academic Services, including scheduling, database management, and those of a confidential nature. Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-ins, phone calls, emails, and ticket based inquiries, triaging and responding to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the departmental offerings and policies, while directing students, faculty, and staff to appropriate resources using established procedures. Coordinate the intake, tracking, and approval of student accommodations, with a secondary focus on exam and classroom logistics. Maintain records and track workflows, supporting high-volume processes during peak periods such as midterms and final exams. Interact with University personnel including those at the senior level regarding specific issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants. Delegate work to student and/or casual employees. This is a fully onsite position. 

 

Qualifications

Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.Required Experience:3+ years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associates degree or some college).Preferred Experience:1+ years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $39.129. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
