Job Title: Tech Consultant – Java Production Support

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tech Consultant – Java Production Support to provide application support for mission-critical Java-based enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and production support processes, with experience in incident management, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. The role involves working closely with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and business teams to ensure high application availability, reliability, and operational excellence.

Day to Day Job Duties:

  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Resolve incidents, service requests, and production defects within defined SLAs.
  • Analyze application logs, system logs, and database issues to identify and resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and business teams to implement permanent fixes.
  • Perform application deployments, release validation, and post-deployment support.
  • Monitor batch jobs, interfaces, and integrations to ensure successful execution.
  • Optimize application performance and recommend improvements to enhance stability and reliability.
  • Prepare incident reports, knowledge articles, and operational documentation.
  • Participate in on-call support, change management, and problem management activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Java application production support.
  • 4+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL, Oracle/MySQL, and database troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience using ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and supporting production incidents in an Agile/ITIL environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of Microservices architecture and API troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other mission-critical enterprise applications.
