About the role

Adonis is looking for a Head of People to lead and scale our People function across recruiting, people operations, employee experience, and strategic business partnership. This role will own how we attract, develop, support, and retain exceptional talent while building the systems, programs, and manager capabilities required for a high-performing, durable organization.

This person will partner closely with executives and functional leaders to ensure people strategy is tightly aligned to company priorities, organizational needs, and business performance. The right candidate is both strategic and hands-on: someone who can operate as a trusted advisor to leadership while also building practical, scalable infrastructure that helps Adonis grow well.

Responsibilities

Employee experience and talent programs

  • Design and run the programs that shape employee experience across onboarding, engagement, feedback, development, recognition, and retention

  • Lead performance management processes, including review cycles, calibration, promotions, and compensation planning

  • Ensure managers have the tools, training, and frameworks to set clear expectations, deliver feedback, and lead high-performing teams

  • Evolve leveling, career development, and talent practices so they are simple, fair, and useful to the business

  • Build lightweight but effective approaches to learning and development, manager enablement, and internal capability building

  • Run engagement and listening mechanisms, synthesize themes, and drive clear follow-through on action plans

Recruiting strategy and operating model

  • Own the overall recruiting strategy and operating model for Adonis, ensuring we attract, assess, and close exceptional talent across the business

  • Lead, coach, and develop the recruiting team, setting a high bar for execution, candidate experience, and hiring quality

  • Partner with executives and functional leaders on headcount planning, role prioritization, and talent strategy

  • Directly lead or support senior and critical searches, particularly for leadership and highly strategic roles

  • Continuously improve the hiring process, including intake, interview design, scorecards, calibration, decision-making, and close strategy

  • Partner cross-functionally to strengthen Adonis’ employer brand and ensure our story, mission, and values are clear in market

People operations, infrastructure, and analytics

  • Own and evolve the core People infrastructure that supports the employee lifecycle, including on/off boarding, HR systems, policies, benefits, and more

  • Ensure People systems and processes are accurate, scalable, and easy to navigate for employees and managers

  • Maintain practical, clear policies and programs that balance compliance, consistency, and the way Adonis actually works

  • Partner with Finance and other stakeholders on headcount tracking, workforce planning, and People-related budget inputs

  • Build and own a people analytics cadence that gives leaders clear visibility into headcount, hiring funnel health, time-to-fill, attrition, engagement, performance, compensation, and other key workforce metrics

  • Use data and operating rigor to improve key People metrics, identify risks early, surface trends to leadership, and inform organizational and talent decisions

Business partnership and organizational leadership

  • Serve as a trusted partner to executives and department leaders on org design, workforce planning, team health, and performance

  • Advise on sensitive employee matters with sound judgment, discretion, and a strong bias toward clarity and fairness

  • Help leaders make thoughtful decisions about team structure, role design, succession, capability gaps, and organizational effectiveness

  • Translate business strategy into People priorities and execution plans

  • Build credibility across the company as a pragmatic, high-trust leader who can move fluidly between strategy and execution

  • Reinforce the cultural norms and leadership behaviors needed for Adonis to scale effectively

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience across People leadership, recruiting, People Operations, HR business partnership, or related areas, with meaningful time in high-growth environments

  • Experience leading a broad People function that spans recruiting, People Operations, employee experience, and business partnership

  • Strong operator with a track record of building scalable systems, processes, and programs from the ground up

  • Experienced manager and coach with the ability to build high-performing teams and raise the bar across the function

  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect People strategy to company priorities, organizational needs, and financial realities

  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders on org design, talent decisions, and organizational effectiveness

  • Excellent communicator who can bring structure, clarity, and calm to complex or sensitive situations

  • High degree of discretion, accountability, and follow-through

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast-moving environment
