As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. Title: Video Codec Engineer, C/Embedded/Video Codec We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Video firmware team and contribute to development of firmware solutions for Qualcomm Video codec hardware. Key Responsibilities * Design and develop new video codecs, next-generation video features, covering requirements, architecture, implementation, and optimization. * Drive silicon bring-up, feature validation, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. * Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, software, verification, and product teams to define HW/SW interfaces and drive feature productization. * Develop, debug, and optimize video codec solutions (Encoder and Decoder) to achieve performance, power, quality, and reliability targets. * Work with hardware teams to define and enhance future video subsystem capabilities and influence next-generation multimedia architectures. * Support customers and ecosystem partners in commercialization of Qualcomm video solutions by providing technical expertise and issue resolution. * Contribute to innovation in video processing, compression technologies, and multimedia frameworks through architecture reviews and design proposals. Key Skills Required * Recent and relevant experience of 6-10 years required in one or more of the following areas: * Solid C programming skills, multithreading and OS concepts/fundamentals * Embedded systems domain * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement and debug video/multimedia features. * Experience in one or more multimedia domains: Video, Camera, Computer Vision * Preferred Skills * Hands on knowledge/experience on Video codecs (H.264\HEVC\VCC\AV1) development, porting and optimization * Understanding of signal processing, video compression (Encoder + Decoder) and other video pre/post processing algorithms Education Requirement * Required: Bachelor's/master’s in computer/electrical/electronic engineering * Preferred : Masters Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
