A Customs Administration & Billing Controlling Specialist in the freight forwarding industry manages cross-border compliance and oversees financial accuracy, which includes entry processing, tariff classification, and financial auditing
How you create impact
- Review import/export declarations, commercial invoices, and HTS codes to meet regulatory standards
- Audit third-party and vendor customs brokerage invoices against established customer rate profiles
- Reconcile financial discrepancies, manage accounts payable/receivable elements for customs files, and resolve unbilled activities
- Partner with finance teams to track shipment margins, duty outlays, and revenue leakage
- Monitor KPIs related to billing accuracy, customs compliance, and process efficiency
- Prepare billing reports, profitability analysis, and financial performance reports
- Support month-end closing activities and ensure compliance with company financial controls
- Support internal and external audits as required and identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor customs clearance status and resolve documentation discrepancies.
- Ensure timely processing of customs declarations, duties, taxes, and government fee
What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3+years in international trade, customs brokerage, or logistics operations
- Strong understanding of customs laws, valuation, and duties
- Proficiency in major freight forwarding and customs tools like CargoWise, Magaya, or ACE
- High attention to detail for managing numerical data, profit calculations, and fee structures
