Product Manager Level III - Financial Literacy
🌐 Who We Are
Bankjoy is a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner backed FinTech startup. We are changing the way community banks and credit unions do business, enabling them to become tech-driven and digital first. Bankjoy provides modern digital banking products including mobile banking, online banking, online account opening, loan origination, and conversational AI. Our mission is to revolutionize banking tech infrastructure by leading digital transformation at financial institutions — big and small.
💼 The Role
We are seeking a Product Manager III to lead the development and strategic direction of our kids and family financial empowerment product. This is a 0-to-1 product role. You will own the roadmap from early-stage concept through launch and growth, working closely with engineering, design, and our credit union partners.
The ideal candidate has a deep passion for financial education, financial empowerment, and fintech product development, specifically in the context of helping families and younger audiences develop strong financial habits. You understand how to build engaging, trust-driven experiences for a sensitive audience, and you know how to navigate the compliance and regulatory nuances of financial products for minors.
This role requires exceptional product instincts, strong market research skills, and the ability to translate user needs into a product that credit unions will be proud to offer their members.
🧠 What You'll Do
Own the end-to-end product roadmap for Bankjoy's kids and family financial empowerment product, from discovery and requirements through launch and iteration
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and user needs in the kids fintech and financial education space
Develop detailed user stories, personas, and journey maps that reflect the needs of both children and their parents or guardians, ensuring the product is engaging, safe, and age-appropriate
Collaborate with engineering, design, and QA to define product requirements and ensure technical solutions align with business and user goals
Work closely with credit union partners to understand their members' needs and ensure the product creates genuine value for financial institutions and families alike
Lead the ideation, development, and launch of features that drive financial engagement, savings behavior, goal-setting, and financial literacy for kids and families
Act as the liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable plans
Prioritize the product backlog and coordinate with engineering leadership to ensure timely and effective execution of the product strategy
Define, track, and analyze product performance metrics and user engagement data, iterating based on feedback and market dynamics
Ensure all product initiatives adhere to regulatory compliance requirements, including those specific to financial products for minors (COPPA, CFPB guidelines, and similar)
🎯 What You Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Education, or a related field
Minimum 7 years of product management experience within fintech, digital banking, financial wellness, or financial education. Candidates without this background will not be considered
Demonstrated passion for financial empowerment and financial education, ideally with direct experience building products for younger audiences, families, or underserved communities
Proven track record of managing a product through its full lifecycle, from 0-to-1 launch through growth and iteration
Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for financial products, including those serving minors
Experience conducting robust market research and translating findings into successful product features
Exceptional ability to create detailed user stories and manage complex product portfolios across multiple stakeholders
