To support the continued growth of our Air business, we are looking for an Assistant Category Manager to join our Air Procurement team within Asset Strategy & Strategic Partnerships.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Air Procurement by combining strategic sourcing, data analytics, supplier management, and digital innovation. You will work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Network, Engineering, and Commercial teams to optimize procurement performance and support the continued development of our airline platform.

We are particularly looking for a candidate who is passionate about leveraging data, automation, and Artificial Intelligence to improve decision-making, increase transparency, and modernize the way we work.

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Category Manager, you will support the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies across Maersk Air Cargo's operational and strategic spend areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support sourcing events, contract negotiations, and supplier management activities across Air Procurement categories
  • Deliver spend transparency, performance reporting, and procurement insights through data analytics
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that support data-driven decision making
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancement
  • Partner with stakeholders to define sourcing requirements and procurement strategies
  • Support implementation of category strategies and supplier governance frameworks
  • Drive category standardization and process scalability across the Air network
  • Contribute to procurement digitalization initiatives and the deployment of AI-enabled tools and workflows
  • Evaluate new technologies, automation opportunities, and analytics solutions that can improve procurement efficiency
  • Deliver category-specific inputs to category strategies, business cases, and executive decision material
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 2-5 years of experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Business Analytics, Airline Operations, or a related field
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience working with data, reporting, and business insights
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools is an advantage
  • Interest in data science, automation, Artificial Intelligence, and digital transformation
  • Experience supporting sourcing projects, negotiations, or supplier management activities
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional and international stakeholder groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
