This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Medical Affairs leader to combine people leadership, scientific expertise, and strategic field execution to support healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes.The Opportunity
Reporting within the Medical Affairs organization, you will lead a national team of MSLs and play a critical role in shaping and executing the field medical strategy for Abbott Diabetes Care in France.You will act as a strategic partner to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality scientific engagement while fostering strong collaboration across Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.What You'll Do
Lead and Develop a High-Performing MSL Team
- Inspire, coach, and develop a team of regional Medical Science Liaisons across France.
- Foster a culture of scientific excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Conduct regular field coaching, performance discussions, and development planning.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team environment that supports retention and growth.
Drive Medical Strategy Execution
- Develop and implement national and regional field medical plans aligned with Medical Affairs priorities.
- Ensure consistent execution of stakeholder engagement plans across regions.
- Monitor field activities and identify opportunities to enhance impact and effectiveness.
- Capture, analyze, and communicate medical insights from the field to inform business and medical strategies.
Strengthen Scientific Partnerships
- Guide and support strategic engagements with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and scientific organizations.
- Ensure high-quality scientific exchange and medical education activities.
- Support evidence generation initiatives, investigator-sponsored studies, and collaborative research projects.
- Strengthen Abbott's scientific leadership within the diabetes community.
Build Strong Cross-Functional Partnerships
- Partner closely with Regional Sales Managers and field leadership teams.
- Ensure Medical Affairs priorities are aligned with business needs while maintaining medical independence and scientific integrity.
- Drive effective collaboration between Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.
- Contribute medical insights during business reviews, strategic planning, and regional discussions.
- Support the development of integrated stakeholder engagement plans.
- Collaborate with international Medical Affairs colleagues and MSL leaders to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure Compliance and Quality
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations, industry codes, and Abbott policies.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics, quality, transparency, and scientific integrity.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent).
- Significant experience within Medical Affairs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare, or related industries.
- Previous people management experience.
- Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent French and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Diabetes Care or related therapeutic areas.
- Previous leadership experience within an MSL organization.
- Experience supporting clinical research, evidence generation, or scientific collaborations.
