This is your chance to be part of a Finance Team that is a critical partner that manages all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. As a Sales Tax Accountant on the Hilton Transaction Tax team, reporting to, Manager, Transaction Taxes, you will focus on the compliance of sales, use and transient occupancy tax returns. This includes evaluating data to file accurate tax returns. You will also assist with research, audits and planning projects.

What you'll do during a typical day:

  • Prepare, research, and file multiple sales, occupancy, use, telecom, liquor and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Maintain a tax calendar or automated workflow with due dates, registration numbers to ensure all returns are filed.
  • Responsible for the monthly analyzing exemptions with the responsibility of accepting or rejecting to comply with laws and rules.

How you'll collaborate with others:

  • Respond to requests for tax information from internal customers and taxing jurisdictions, resolving compliance issues with taxing authorities.

  • Work with team members, corporate accountants and hotel team members.

Projects you'll take ownership of:

  • Identify or assist with opportunities to improve operations or improve processes and how we can better serve the hotels and improve the accuracy and filing of transaction tax compliance.
  • Ensure your worksheets are up to date and correct

What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • One (1) year of state sales and use tax
  • Two (2) years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience analyzing financial data
  • Experience with financial systems, such as PeopleSoft, and proficient in Excel, and Word
  • Research tax implications

It would be useful if you have:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of indirect, transaction, sales and use tax

Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package to support their mental and physical well-being, so they can Thrive personally and professionally. The pay range for this role is $52,500 – $75,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
