- Assess the financial viability of strategic initiatives, partnerships, and new market entries across Europe, ensuring long-term value creation
- Deliver clear, compelling financial storytelling — translating complex data into actionable insights for the REL Executive Management Team, the Board, and Remitly's global finance leadership

- Partner with Remitly's Global Tax function to ensure ongoing tax compliance across REL activities and advise on tax impacts of European expansion
- In partnership with Compliance and Legal, own finance-related obligations tied to REL's payment institution licence and CBI supervisory requirements
- Maintain a thorough and current understanding of the regulatory landscape — including PSD2, CBI guidance, and applicable EBA standards — and proactively identify impacts on existing and future processes
- Coordinate finance workstreams for new regulatory licence applications and new product launches across European jurisdictions
Finance Leadership
- Work closely with Remitly's centralised US finance teams (Tax, Treasury, Accounting, FP&A) to drive delivery of Finance commitments across Europe
- Support entity-level board reporting and policy governance, including preparation and presentation of materials for the REL Board
- Partner with business owners and the FP&A team to support annual budgeting, expense management, and headcount planning
- Build, lead, and develop the REL finance team as the business scales
