We are a growing team of more than 400 passionate employees from more than 50 countries who share the same vision: to create a single tool to help send travellers almost anywhere in the world.Job DescriptionOmio is looking for a dynamic and commercially driven General Manager to lead our Japan business and unlock the full potential of one of the world’s most exciting travel markets.As our first in-country senior leader, you will be the face of Omio in Japan: building the partnerships, brand presence and commercial momentum needed to turn early traction into lasting market leadership.This is a rare opportunity to shape a high-growth business from the ground up, combining entrepreneurial ambition with the institutional backing of a global travel platform.Responsibilities:Commercial Partnerships & SupplyOwn the business performance and full P&L of JapanServe as the primary relationship owner for all strategic suppliers in Japan, cultivating long-term trust and preferential terms through frequent executive-level engagementIdentify and pursue new partnership opportunities across travel, tourism and adjacent ecosystems to diversify Omio’s distribution and revenue streamsWork closely with the global supply team to ensure partner onboarding, content quality and inventory accuracy meet Omio’s standardsOwn and grow Omio’s network of local supply partners, negotiating and closing commercial agreements that strengthen content depth and exclusivityMarket Development & Growth through marketing leadershipsDefine and execute the marketing roadmap for Japan, setting ambitious revenue and market-share targets aligned with Omio’s global expansion strategyLead localised marketing and brand-building initiatives that drive customer acquisition, retention and organic growth, working hand-in-hand with Omio’s central marketing teamTranslate consumer and competitive insights into product and pricing recommendations, advocating for Japan-specific features with global product and engineering stakeholdersEstablish scalable go-to-market motions that amplify reach beyond direct channelsStakeholder Relations & RepresentationAct as Omio’s senior representative with regulators, industry bodies and government agencies, ensuring compliance and proactive relationship managementBuild Omio’s brand equity with media, investors and ecosystem players, positioning the company as a credible and committed long-term participant in the Japanese marketReport directly to Omio’s global leadership, providing clear and data-driven updates on performance, risks and opportunitiesOperations managementRecruit, develop and inspire a high-performing local team as the business scales, instilling a culture of ownership, excellence and customer obsessionOversee day-to-day country operations including budget management, forecasting and reporting in partnership with Omio’s finance and operations teamsDefine and track OKRs for the Japan market, surfacing actionable insights to accelerate growth and address operational gapsQualifications 8+ years’ experience in senior commercial, business development or...
