Your role
The Waste and Wastewater Treatment Specialist engineer will report to the Manager water et waste water. The candidate will have dual responsibility: developing and maintaining business relationships with municipalities in the Vancouver region, while also contributing to project delivery, either as a Project Manager or as a Discipline Lead.
Project delivery
Either serve as Project Manager who will be responsible to:
- Define scope,
- manage budget, risk and schedule,
- multidisciplinary coordination.
Or as a discipline lead who will be responsible to:
- Prepare technical documentation for the execution of projects, including but not limited to: equipment specifications, design criteria, P&IDs,
- Development and management procurement packages;
- Mentoring team members.
Business relation
- Prepare and/or contribute to the preparation of engineering effort estimates, proposals, budgets, and project execution plans.
- Support proposal development, including technical writing, pricing strategies, and interview presentations.
- prepare and deliver presentations, workshops, and technical discussions with senior stakeholders.
About you
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a seller-doer mentality, balancing client development responsibilities with technical project execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline;
- Master’s degree in Applied Hydraulics or Hydrology (an asset);
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience;
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC);
- Municipal experience, preferably working on Metro Vancouver water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects.
- Existing network of municipal contacts within Metro Vancouver, local municipalities, First Nations, utilities, and related agencies is considered a strong asset
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of large pumping stations, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, or related municipal infrastructure.
- Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities within the Metro Vancouver municipal and utility sector.
- Proven business development experience, including identifying opportunities, developing pursuits, and converting leads into projects.
- Ability to develop and execute account strategies for key municipal and infrastructure clients.
- Knowledge of Metro Vancouver design standards, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to understand client business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams and coordinate resources across multiple offices.

Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range of 117 200 $ to 161 150 $ annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers
