This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll maintain, improve and modernise complex OSS integration solutions. You'll balance enhancing existing and legacy applications with developing secure, scalable software that enables greater automation, operational resilience and the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.
Working closely with engineers, product owners and operational teams, you'll solve complex technical challenges, improve engineering practices and help shape the future of Kordia's operational platforms.

What you'll be responsible for
- Designing and developing secure, maintainable software and integrations across OSS platforms
- Maintaining and modernising existing applications while reducing technical debt and improving reliability
- Building resilient integrations between operational, network and broadcast systems
- Contributing to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
- Championing automation and AI-assisted engineering to improve delivery and operational efficiency
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and delivering practical, scalable solutions
- Collaborating with engineers, product owners and operational teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Sharing knowledge, conducting code reviews and helping lift engineering capability across the team
Nā tōu rourou – What you will bring
- Extensive software development experience within complex technology environments
- Strong backend Python development skills, including frameworks such as Django or FastAPI
- Experience supporting and modernising existing or legacy codebases
- Experience building integration solutions across operational or distributed systems
- Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- A practical approach to balancing technical quality, operational reliability and business outcomes
- Experience using modern engineering practices, including automation and AI-assisted development tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
- A passion for continuous improvement and sharing knowledge with others
