Outlet Cashier - Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform cashiering functions at restaurant and bar outlets.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Take responsibility for the cashier’s house fund and it’s safekeeping as per the hotel standard and policies.
- Enforce the credit policies of the hotel and ensures the completeness of all settled guest checks with supporting documents.
- Accomplish cashier’s remittance report and remits cash receipts collected to the designated drop box at the end of shift.
- Assist guests with payment inquiries and provide receipts for transactions. Address any billing discrepancies or issues courteously and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to financial transactions and record-keeping.
- Stay informed about updates to financial policies, procedures, and systems. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Execute financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, checks, and POS, while adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Assist in training new cashiers on cash handling procedures, software systems, and customer service standards to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline cash handling processes and improve efficiency. Collaborate with management to implement enhancements and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and accounting, to resolve billing discrepancies, address payment issues, and improve overall guest satisfaction.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining documentation related to cash transactions, receipts, and financial records. Ensure compliance with record-keeping policies and procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation, supporting evidence, and explanations of cash handling practices. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

- Capable of accurately counting money, verifying checks and credit card transactions, and detecting counterfeit currency.
- Familiarity with operating electronic cash registers or POS systems to process transactions quickly and efficiently.
- Understanding of upselling and cross-selling techniques to promote additional products or services and maximize sales opportunities.
