Customer Operations Lead

San FranciscoFullTime$100k–$150kPosted Aug 4, 2026

About the Role

We're an early-stage AI infrastructure company building the platform for reinforcement learning environments, post-training datasets, and AI model evaluation. Our customers include data suppliers, frontier AI labs, and enterprise buyers — and we're looking for a Customer Operations Lead to own the human layer that makes those relationships work.

This is a high-judgment, high-autonomy role at the intersection of customer success, operations, and process building. You'll work alongside GTM Engineers as the implementation counterpart — stepping in where automation ends and human trust-building begins. You'll be central to customer activation, problem resolution, and turning recurring learnings into scalable systems.

What You'll Do

  • Own the customer-facing work that cannot or should not be automated with AI.

  • Serve as the implementation counterpart to GTM Engineers, owning the human-in-the-loop layer across the customer base.

  • Jump into customer conversations when a human touch is needed to build trust, clarify context, or move things forward.

  • Resolve contract, onboarding, and platform blockers by coordinating with the right internal owners.

  • Turn recurring customer issues, feedback, and learnings into better processes, platform improvements, and communications.

  • Build lightweight systems that streamline workflows and make resolving problems easier the next time they occur.

  • Manage many small but important customer threads simultaneously with strong follow-through.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Experience in customer operations, business operations, consulting, or similar roles.

  • Demonstrated judgment in customer-facing situations — knowing when to be helpful, when to push back, and when to escalate.

  • Comfort managing many concurrent threads with high attention to detail and strong follow-through.

  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve personal productivity.

  • Early-stage startup experience and the ability to work independently in fast-paced, unstructured environments.

  • Experience working with technical customers.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning concepts — e.g., you know what environments, evals, and benchmarks are.

  • A track record of building systems and processes from scratch rather than inheriting them.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 USD annually

  • Visa sponsorship is available for qualifying candidates.

Location

This role supports multiple location arrangements depending on where you're based:

  • U.S.-based candidates: Must be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA (on-site).

  • Southeast Asia-based candidates: Must be located in Singapore (on-site).

  • Candidates elsewhere (particularly Europe): May be considered for a fully remote independent contractor arrangement.
