Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
- Lead the sales engineering team to identify, qualify, and secure high volume, long-term OEM partnership
- Mentor, lead, and develop a team of regional sales engineers to drive performance
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for senior-level engineering stakeholders at major OEM partners
- Oversee the technical application process-providing specialized expertise to guide clients through design qualification, reliability activities, and optimal component pairings
- Identify industry trends, competitor product strengths, and emerging technological needs
- Act as the internal voice of the customer to influence R&D and product roadmap decision at HQ
- Work with sales, marketing teams to create compelling presentations, white papers, and proposals showcasing the total value proposition of Samsung compressor technology
- Guide customers in testing and qualifying new compressors
- Find business opportunities with new customers and expand market share in the residential/commercial HVAC sectors
- Technical support to HVAC OEM customers during qualification and reliability activities
- Assist as needed in developing the customer business case for new concept solutions
- Perform detailed engineering analysis to quantify cost savings or other customer benefits
- Provides daily interactions with Samsung sales, quality, R&D, and designated OEM partners
- Communication channels between Korea HQ and customers during sales activities
- Participate in trade show and exhibitions in connection with compressor business
- Ability to travel approx. 30% domestically (OEM manufacturing and R&D sites)
- Dynamic personality with great leadership, management, and sales
- Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development projects
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in HVAC compressor sales or application engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior technical role
- Experience with and understanding of compressor technology (rotary, scroll, inverter drives) and OEM HVAC system design (Heat Pump, Residential/Commercial AC)
- Experience leading technical teams and managing complex, long-cycle sales processes
- Professional experience and knowledge of project specifications and blueprints
- Experience with ASHRAE standards and regulations
- Prior experience as a leader in a team setting
- Fluent in Korean and English
