What You Will Do
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation and control systems. The role involves working closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution and system performance.
How You Will Do It
- Install complex field devices and control system components in accordance with project requirements and engineering specifications.
- Perform system configuration, startup, testing, and commissioning using standard JCI tools and processes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system, hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Respond to warranty service calls and provide timely resolution to customer concerns.
- Verify system performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to installation, commissioning, and service activities.
- Coordinate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and customers regarding project status, progress, and any issues requiring attention.
- Adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards while executing field activities.
What We Look For
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree / Diploma (2-year degree) in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC Controls, Fire & Security Systems, or related automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of control systems, field devices, sensors, actuators, and system integration.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys or other Building Automation Systems.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and system integration protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or N2.
- Experience in customer-facing field service environments.
