Emergency Technician 0.9 Variable at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission, CA.

Under the general supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Resource Nurse, performs basic emergency medical/trauma procedures and patient care as directed.  Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to assigned age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.

The Emergency Department (ED) is a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Receiving Center, Paramedic Base Station, and Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). Our Emergency Department received the ENA (Emergency Nurses Association) prestigious Lantern Award for excellence in emergency care. Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Completion of EMT-1 Training program. Or Clinical experience.
  • Coursework/Training MOAB I / II within 30 to 150 days of hire.    
  • Upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician License Or 
  • Upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician Advanced License Or 
  • Upon hire: California Paramedic License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians 
  • California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire
  • 1 year Patient care or clinical experience.
  • Experience in an emergency room setting.
