The Role
Presidio is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Associate Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is designed as a growth path: you will build on foundational Cisco routing and switching skills and develop into a full Implementation Engineer, capable of independently deploying enterprise network solutions. In this role, you will provide technical support on a variety of project-based work, including the planning, design, and implementation of Enterprise Networks, WAN connectivity, and Security solutions. As part of this role, you will gain hands-on engineering experience, sharpen your configuration and troubleshooting skills, and receive training to support professional certifications. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the success of ongoing projects while learning about cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities Include:
Project Support & Implementation: Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise network solutions, WAN (Wide Area Network) connectivity, and security solutions for clients.
• Configuration & Technical Troubleshooting: Perform basic configuration of Cisco routing and switching equipment, and provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for network infrastructure and security systems, assisting in the resolution of issues quickly and effectively.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with senior engineers and consultants to deliver solutions and participate in a structured mentorship program designed to accelerate your growth into an Implementation Engineer role.
• Learning & Development: Participate in a comprehensive program of hands-on engineering projects and training for technical certifications (e.g., CCNP, PCNSE, NSE4).
• Documentation & Diagramming: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and network diagrams for networks, configurations, and security protocols.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, best practices, and security trends to ensure the solutions provided are efficient, secure, and scalable.
Required Skills and Professional Experience:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Technical Skills: Some hands-on configuration experience with Cisco routing and switching, along with an understanding of core networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching) and familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Certifications (Required): CCNA.
• Documentation & Diagramming: Ability to create and maintain clear network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Troubleshooting: Basic troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and help resolve common network issues.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Learning Mindset: A desire to learn new technologies, acquire certifications, and grow professionally into an Implementation Engineer role.
