What You Can Expect
The RTR Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day Record to Report operations within a Global Business Services (GBS) / Shared Services environment. The role ensures accurate and timely period-end close, statutory reporting, and compliance with global accounting standards. As part of the GBS Subject Matter Expert (SME) team, the role leads standardized global processes, supports continuous improvement, ensures strong internal controls, and acts as a key liaison with regional and corporate stakeholders.
How You'll Create Impact
Operational & Accounting Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Record to Report activities in line with GBS global process standards, including:
- General ledger accounting
- Journal entries and accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Act as part of the GBS Subject Matter Expert (SME) team, leading standardized RTR processes, including:
- Banking and Cash Accounting, ensuring accurate cash postings, clearing, and timely reconciliations
- Fixed Asset Processing and Accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, asset movements, disposals, and reporting
- Master Data Maintenance in SAP and FCCS/Hyperion, ensuring data accuracy, governance, and compliance with global controls
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close in accordance with SLAs, global timelines, and corporate reporting requirements
- Review and analyse financial results, investigate variances, and ensure data integrity
- Ensure compliance with IFRS / US GAAP / local GAAP and global accounting policies
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and external reporting requirements
- Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations, where applicable
Team Leadership & People Management
- Supervise, coach, and develop RTR team members within the GBS delivery model
- Allocate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure adequate coverage during peak close periods
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support training and capability-building plans
- Act as the escalation point for operational, system, or technical accounting issues
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key GBS contact for business units, country finance teams, and corporate controllers
- Partner closely with other finance towers, including AP, AR, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury
- Communicate proactively on close status, key risks, issues, and remediation plans
- Support smooth collaboration between GBS, regional finance, and corporate stakeholders
Process Improvement & Controls
- Drive process standardization, simplification, and optimization across regions
- Support automation initiatives and system enhancements (e.g., SAP, FCCS/Hyperion)
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX and internal audit requirements
- Maintain, review, and update SOPs, process documentation, and control matrices
- Support GBS transformation, transition, and knowledge transfer activities as required

Your Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent.
- CPA or equivalent a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and other regional and global accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, IASB).
- Previous experience working in a Shared Services/GBS environment a plus
- Ability to read, write and speak English and Mandarin fluently.
- Ability to speak in other Asia Pacific languages is a plus – e.g., Japanese, Thai, Korean.
