DNSFilter’s mission is to protect our customers and partners with products they love to use! We are revolutionizing network security by providing fast, accurate, and reliable threat protection and content filtering. We're a rapidly growing company dedicated to creating a safer internet for businesses and organizations worldwide. Leveraging AI-driven threat intelligence, DNSFilter empowers our customers to proactively block threats before they impact their networks. We foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented culture where every team member contributes to our mission of making the internet safer.

As we continue our product-fueled growth by adding new features and broadening our solution to meet the needs of the global market, it's clear there's a missing piece. That's where you come in!

DNSFilter is hiring an AI Operations Engineer to join the team building internal AI tools and agents that allow our ~150-person company to operate like one many times its size! You will be the builder who turns ideas into shipped, monitored tools: Claude plugins, skills, MCP connectors, and agents that replace SaaS spend and automate real work across every department.

This is a fully remote role, with a strong preference for candidates who can overlap U.S. Eastern business hours. Eligible candidates have worked successfully in a small to mid-sized fast-paced, hyper-growth, SaaS start-up or scale-up.

We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If you feel like this job is for you, please apply. We believe diversity of experience and skills, including transferable skills, combined with passion, is a key to innovation and excellence; therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions!

To qualify for this role, you have:

  • Strong hands-on experience with LLM tooling: Claude, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agents, and prompt/context engineering
  • 3+ years building software with Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, LLMs) to ship faster
  • Experience integrating third-party REST APIs and building reusable, well-documented components or services
  • A strong security-first mindset when handling sensitive business data through governed connectors and integrations
  • Experience and ability to work autonomously, shape ambiguous requests into specs, and know when to escalate
  • Experience integrating common business SaaS tools via their APIs
  • Remote work capability with overlap to 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Timezone

Bonus points for:

  • SQL and data modeling experience
  • Prior internal-tools, platform, or automation engineering
  • Experience with the Anthropic API, agent frameworks, or building MCP servers
  • DNS protocol or cybersecurity domain knowledge

In this role, you will:

  • Build and ship Claude plugins, skills, and MCP connectors (Python and TypeScript) that replace paid SaaS tools and automate work across the company
  • Build and operate agents on our internal multi-agent platform: triggers, managed-agent configs, and governed MCP integrations
  • Maintain and monitor the deployed fleet (MCP gateway connectors, plugin marketplace) and fix breakages quickly
  • Turn groomed specifications into working, monitored tools, and help groom the intake queue of requests from across the company
  • Partner directly with departments (Finance, HR, Sales, Support, Engineering) on time-boxed, embedded builds
  • Contribute light data work as needed: SQL queries and reporting
  • Use AI to accelerate your own learning and productivity, and be an advocate for AI across DNSFilter

We Offer:

  • Pathway to promotion to additional organizational positions and responsibilities based upon results and performance, not just time in the chair.  You help us grow, and we will help you grow.
  • Passionate and intelligent colleagues who work hard and have a good time doing it
  • Paid company-wide week off at the end of each year
  • Flexible Vacation Policy
  • Awesome company swag
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for US, UK, and Canada-based employees
  • Full short-term disability and life benefits; available long-term disability
  • Retirement savings account options with vested company matching for qualifying employees
  • In-person annual gatherings. Last time we all spent a week on a beach in the Dominican Republic!
