Human Resources Business Partner, Lead Associate
Responsibilities
The Peraton HR Team is seeking a solution-oriented Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support Corporate Functions. This is an individual contributor role for an HR professional who is building expertise in the field and is ready to operate with autonomy, influence, and strategic impact. The ideal candidate is a team player who brings conceptual and practical HR knowledge, a curious mindset and a consultative approach to their work.
This role is best suited for someone who understands how HR integrates across the broader organization and can become a trusted, consultative partner to leaders across Corporate Functions.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned Corporate Functions client groups, providing strategic and operational HR support across talent management, performance management, employee relations, and engagement
- Leverage data and technology to help solve organizational and people challenges
- Facilitate and strengthen positive relationships between employees and leadership
- Contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives
- Handle employee relations investigations and counseling with objectivity, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Manage sensitive and confidential information with appropriate discretion
- Support employee retention initiatives and engagement programs aligned to business priorities
- Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and effectively
- Support HR policy and compliance initiatives and apply demonstrated knowledge of key employment laws
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field; additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Conceptual and practical knowledge of HR disciplines including talent management, performance management, employee relations, and employment law
- Ability to give, receive, and implement constructive feedback
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects or project steps within broader initiatives
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency in leveraging technology to manipulate data and draw conclusions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus and trust with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential material
- Able to work from the Reston, VA location
- Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a government contracting workforce
- Familiarity with HR platforms such as Workday and iCIMS
