Overview

JOB SPECIFICS

In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to the corporate philosophy of OSF Medical Group (OSFMG), the Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care in both ambulatory and procedural settings, including assessment, diagnosis, development of treatment plans, and ongoing management of acute and chronic ENT conditions. The APP will perform specialty‑specific procedures within scope, coordinate care across services, and contribute to patient education, clinical workflows, and quality initiatives.

  • Conduct comprehensive ENT evaluations including history, physical examination, diagnostic interpretation, and formulation of evidence‑based treatment plans.
  • Manage acute and chronic otolaryngologic conditions such as sinus disease, allergic rhinitis, otitis, hearing loss, thyroid disorders, voice/swallowing concerns, and head & neck masses.
  • Perform and assist with ENT procedures appropriate to training and credentialing (e.g., flexible laryngoscopy, cerumen removal, nasal endoscopy, biopsy, wound care, postoperative management).
  • Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care, including surgical counseling, follow‑up visits, medication management, and coordination of testing or referrals.
  • Collaborate closely with ENT surgeons, audiology, speech‑language pathology, allergy services, and primary care to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
  • Deliver patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, self‑management strategies, and preventive care.
  • Support clinic efficiency through independent patient visits, triage of urgent concerns, and optimization of care pathways.
  • Five 8-hour day shifts per week, Monday – Friday.

  • Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20-$63.65. This position is salaried.
    • Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations.  Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
  • BLS/ACLS Certified.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served. Previous otolaryngology experience as a provider.
