Job Description:

The Opportunity

This is not a volume recruitment role — and it is not a role for developing recruiters.

This is a high‑pressure, high‑impact senior leadership search role operating at the centre of a complex, matrixed, multinational organisation during a period of rapid transformation. And, for the right person, it'll be the most rewarding job and a lot of fun!

As Hitachi Energy continues to scale across EMEA in the context of the global energy transition, the demand for exceptional leadership has intensified. Our Executive Talent Acquisition team, of which this role is part, sits at the heart of this agenda — navigating competing priorities, strong opinions, confidential searches, and senior‑level complexities to deliver the right leaders at the right time.

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to focus on filling our Senior Leadership roles, who thrives in ambiguity, is energised by competing demands, and is credible operating as a peer to senior leaders.

You will work across multiple senior searches simultaneously, often with limited tolerance for delay, incomplete information, and evolving stakeholder expectations. Success in this role requires resilience, judgement, and the confidence to push back — constructively — when needed.

This role can be based anywhere in Europe.
Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available.

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Personally lead multiple, complex search assignments across EMEA, often in parallel and frequently under time pressure.
  • Operate as a trusted but challenging partner to Senior Leaders, HRBPs, and other senior stakeholders — balancing influence, diplomacy, and commercial realism.
  • Navigate conflicting stakeholder agendas, organisational demands, and unclear decision ownership while maintaining momentum and credibility.
  • Design and execute bespoke, research‑led sourcing strategies, including direct search and market mapping, for senior and executive‑level roles.
  • Own the end‑to‑end executive recruitment lifecycle, including highly confidential searches, with absolute accountability for delivery and quality.
  • Conduct rigorous senior leadership assessments and provide clear, evidence‑based recommendations, even when they challenge stakeholder preferences.
  • Use market intelligence, data, and insight to shape hiring decisions, challenge assumptions, and recalibrate expectations.
  • Build and sustain a long‑term senior leadership talent pipeline across multiple countries, sectors, and leadership disciplines.
  • Act as a compelling ambassador for the Hitachi Energy leadership story — while remaining honest about complexity, pace, and expectations.
  • Continuously refine executive hiring approaches, tools, and methodologies in a fast‑evolving environment.
  • Champion inclusive leadership hiring while operating within demanding commercial and delivery constraints.
  • Role‑model sound judgement, integrity, and discretion in everything you do.

Your Background

This role is only suitable for experienced, senior recruiters who have operated successfully in both agency and in‑house executive environments.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience delivering senior leadership‑level recruitment across multiple EMEA countries, ideally within a matrixed or global organisation.
  • A strong background in executive search or retained agency work, combined with in‑house experience navigating complex internal dynamics.
  • Proven capability managing multiple senior stakeholders with competing priorities, including those with strong personalities and differing agendas.
  • High resilience and the ability to stay effective in fast‑paced, politically nuanced environments with shifting requirements.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with a clear understanding of how senior leadership roles operate in practice.
  • The confidence and credibility to influence, challenge, and negotiate with senior leaders — not simply take instructions.
  • Deep understanding of EMEA senior leadership labour markets, cultural differences, and regional nuances.
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are an advantage).
  • A track record of delivery where outcomes mattered — not just activity.

What this role is not

  • Not a step‑up role for recruiters new to senior leadership hiring or having only recruited senior roles in one function or country.
  • Not a process‑driven, transactional recruitment role
  • Not suitable for those uncomfortable with ambiguity, challenge, or senior‑level dynamics.
