Key responsibilities

Perform full range of process such as disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of aircraft components such as heat exchangers, air cycle machines, valves, and starters in accordance with regulatory and OEM standards.

Independently diagnose and resolve technical issues using comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, technical documentation, and engineering specifications.

Certify completed maintenance work in compliance with FAA, EASA, or other relevant regulatory authorities, ensuring airworthiness and operational reliability.

Perform root cause analysis for component failures and provide expert recommendations for corrective actions and process enhancements.

Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and proper use of precision tools, equipment, and test rigs in the workshop.

Act as a technical mentor and trainer for Technicians, Junior Technicians and Apprentice Technicians, providing guidance, sharing expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous development.

Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards, driving a proactive approach to risk mitigation and quality assurance.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address non-standard maintenance issues and implement process improvements.

Lead or actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing workshop efficiency, reducing turnaround times, and optimizing resource utilization.

Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in aircraft component MRO, with a proven track record in handling complex maintenance tasks.

Certified in aircraft component maintenance by a recognized aviation regulatory authority (e.g., FAA, EASA).

Familiarity with OEM certifications for specific components is highly desirable.

Advanced technical proficiency in mechanical and precision repair, including use of diagnostic tools and technologies.

Expert knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and certification requirements.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on teamwork and knowledge-sharing.

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with a proactive and analytical mindset.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
