Job Description Summary
The EHS Manager at Avio Polska in Bielsko-Biała will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable Polish and EU regulations, GE Aerospace standards, and company policies. This role will spend significant time at the shop floor, partner with operations to drive a strong safety culture, and continuously improve EHS performance across the organization.Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with Avio Polska's objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identifications, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with all national and local EHS legislation, standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001), and internal company policies.
- Lead and organize EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Manage and maintain EHS documentation, records, and reporting systems, including incident logs, inspection reports, and environmental permits.
- Collaborate with management, employees, and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory bodies, emergency services) on EHS matters.
- Conduct internal and external EHS audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and tracking progress.
- Oversee the management of hazardous waste, chemical safety, and environmental impact reduction initiatives.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure their regular testing and effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance through data analysis, trend identification, and implementation of best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience in an EHS leadership or management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven knowledge of Polish and EU EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Fluency in Polish and English, both written and spoken.
- EU work permit.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) is a strong asset.
