Role Description
As a System Engineer, you collaborate with a team of Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Manufacturing Engineers to design these cores, translating designs into high performance products for our customers. Applications range from precision analog measurement. You will have opportunities to specialize in a subject area or broadly cover many technologies.
Your team
You will be working with our cross functional engineering team in Wroclaw, Poland, as a key part of Fluke’s engineering organization. You will have a close working relationship with Fluke’s technical experts around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and maintenance of software system requirements and sub-system requirements for new product development, product portfolio expansions, sustaining projects, and product changes.
- Translate stakeholder, customer, product, hardware, firmware, UX, service, manufacturing, compliance, and quality needs into clear, traceable, feasible, and verifiable software system requirements.
- Own and support software system architecture definitions, including interfaces, data flows, platform integration, reusable modules, connectivity, cybersecurity, and interactions with hardware, firmware, cloud, application, and test environments.
- Collaborate with software architects, product owners, system leads, firmware engineers, hardware engineers, UX, and V&V teams to align software requirements, design decisions, implementation scope, and validation plans.
- Create and maintain software-related engineering documentation such as software system definitions, SRS inputs, architecture descriptions, interface definitions, traceability matrices, risk registers, and design review materials.
- Contribute to software and system-level risk management activities, including SFMEA, DFMEA, cybersecurity threat assessments, technical trade-off analysis, defect triage, and mitigation planning.
- Partner with project management and functional leads to estimate software scope, dependencies, technical risks, resource needs, and project timeline impacts versus feature delivery commitments.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment during design reviews, integration milestones, release planning, and issue-resolution workshops to ensure software decisions remain consistent with the overall product architecture.
- Communicate regularly with engineering leadership and upper management by providing concise reports on software system status, requirements maturity, integration risks, validation readiness, open issues, and key achievements.
Experience
University degree in Physics, applied or technical Electronics, Microsystem technology, or similar
3+ years of relevant experience in designing electronic systems
Knowledge in Electronics
Knowledge in the area of measurement technology in electronics and electrical engineering
Knowledge in software programming like C#, Python, C++
Knowledge of operating systems like Linux, Zephyr, FreeRTos
