About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a WordPress Developer to build, customize, optimize, and maintain high-performing WordPress websites that support business growth and digital marketing initiatives.
This role combines strong WordPress development expertise with a solid understanding of website performance, SEO, responsive design, and user experience. You’ll work closely with marketing, content, and design teams to develop visually polished, conversion-focused websites that are fast, secure, and easy to maintain.
From custom page builds and plugin integrations to performance optimization and troubleshooting, you’ll own the complete website development lifecycle while ensuring every site delivers an exceptional user experience.

Responsibilities
WordPress Development & Customization
- Build and customize WordPress websites using Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or custom development.
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and child themes.
- Create responsive landing pages, blogs, templates, and marketing-focused web pages.
- Customize layouts and functionality using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Convert Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch designs into responsive WordPress pages.
Plugin Management & Integrations
- Install, configure, and customize WordPress plugins including:
- WooCommerce
- Yoast SEO
- Contact Form 7
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and compatibility issues.
- Extend website functionality through custom PHP development.
- Integrate CRMs, analytics tools, marketing platforms, and third-party APIs.
Website Performance & SEO Optimization
- Optimize website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall performance.
- Implement:
- Caching
- Image optimization
- Lazy loading
- CDN integration
- Code minification
- Perform website audits using Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, and PageSpeed Insights.
- Apply technical SEO best practices, including metadata, schema markup, heading structure, and mobile optimization.
Website Maintenance & Security
- Manage WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates.
- Monitor website uptime, backups, and overall website health.
- Implement security best practices using tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, or iThemes Security.
- Troubleshoot bugs, hosting issues, broken layouts, and website errors.
- Maintain secure, stable, and reliable website environments.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with marketing and design teams to launch campaigns and website updates.
- Support non-technical team members with CMS updates and content management.
- Maintain organized staging environments and deployment workflows.
- Document website changes, configurations, and technical processes.

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- WooCommerce development and e-commerce websites.
- Experience building or extending custom WordPress plugins.
- Familiarity with Git workflows and staging/deployment environments.
- Experience integrating APIs, CRMs, or marketing automation platforms.
- Background working with agencies, SaaS companies, or high-growth businesses.
