Healthcare Field Operations Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)
At Clover Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes through innovative technology and operational excellence. We are committed to building scalable solutions that improve the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of healthcare data.
We are seeking a Healthcare Field Operations Specialist to support a strategic initiative focused on medical record retrieval, provider engagement, and operational innovation. This role will work directly with provider offices across New Jersey to retrieve medical records while partnering closely with internal teams to design and refine a scalable field operations model that can be expanded across future markets.
This is a highly autonomous, field-based contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate is resourceful, relationship-driven, organized, and energized by building new processes from the ground up. Candidates must reside in New Jersey and be willing to travel frequently to provider offices throughout the assigned territory.
This role combines hands-on execution with operational design. Success will be measured not only by near-term record retrieval but also by the insights, workflows, and best practices developed to help shape the future of field retrieval operations at Clover Health.
As a Healthcare Field Operations Specialist you will:
- Drive Medical Record Retrieval: Serve as the primary field resource responsible for obtaining outstanding medical records from provider offices. Build relationships with office staff and providers to accelerate retrieval timelines and maximize retrieval success rates.
- Build Trusted Provider Relationships: Develop productive, professional relationships with front office staff, practice managers, medical records teams, and clinicians. Establish yourself as a reliable partner and advocate for efficient record exchange.
- Execute a Multi-Channel Retrieval Strategy: Coordinate in-person visits, phone outreach, email communication, and collaboration with centralized support teams to secure requested records as efficiently as possible.
- Own Territory Planning & Execution: Manage outreach activities, prioritize provider offices, coordinate site visits, and maintain accurate documentation of progress, barriers, and opportunities.
- Test, Learn, and Improve: Bring creativity and initiative to the role by developing, piloting, and evaluating new approaches for improving retrieval success rates, provider engagement, and operational efficiency. Experiment thoughtfully and share findings with the broader team.
- Co-Build a Scalable Operating Model: Partner closely with operational leadership to document successful tactics, identify process improvements, evaluate tooling and workflows, and help create a repeatable field retrieval model that can be scaled across geographies and provider groups. Your observations and recommendations will directly influence future program design.
- Maintain Compliance Standards: Follow all applicable privacy, security, and compliance requirements related to medical record retrieval and provider interactions, while proactively surfacing risks and challenges.
Success in This Role Looks Like:
- Provider offices recognize you as a trusted and professional partner, making it easier to obtain records and navigate operational barriers.
- You effectively coordinate with centralized operations and outreach teams to maximize retrieval outcomes.
- You identify patterns, obstacles, and opportunities that improve future retrieval efforts.
- You contribute meaningful insights on provider behavior, workflows, and retrieval strategies that help shape a sustainable and scalable operating model.
You Should Get in Touch If:
- You have 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, provider relations, account management, field outreach, medical records, practice consulting, healthcare sales, or a related field.
- You are highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities while operating independently in a field-based environment.
- You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and are comfortable building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- You are resourceful, proactive, and enjoy solving operational challenges in ambiguous environments.
- You are curious by nature and enjoy identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.
