The Civil Engineer shall provide complete design services including preparation of civil site work drawings and water/sewer designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide designs, preparing drawings, statements of work, and project cost estimates for their respective assignments.
Compile and integrate work of other disciplines into the project design documentation.
Perform design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilities and utility systems.
Interpret and adapt traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.
Provide civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, airfield pavements and water/sewer/storm water designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Shall be familiar with USAF programming rules and documentation.
Thorough knowledge of civil design and engineering techniques.
Proficient in creating designs simple enough for local construction contractors to complete
Excellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate; can use Microsoft Office and Project, etc.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Experience & Education:
Civil/Structural Engineer Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET Accredited University with at least ten (10) years’ experience in construction or facility maintenance.
Must be proficient in reviewing and analyzing civil engineering drawings and specifications, conducting site assessments to identify constraints and opportunities, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Experience with airfield pavement systems is highly desirable.
Must have knowledge of principles of engineering, planning, project programming, design, project management, construction management and ability to interpret plans and drawings.
Required to complete AFIT WENG 400, WENG 519, WENG 555, WMGT 131, WMGT 301, WMGT 417, WMGT 322, WMGT 422, WMGT 423, and WTSS 200 and WENG 550 is desirable. All required courses are offered online or live broadcast and shall be completed through the first available offering after hiring date.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
