Genset Testing and Validation Engineer

Test Planning & Execution

• Develop validation plans, test procedures, and test schedules for generator set programs.
• Conduct performance testing, endurance testing, durability testing, and environmental validation.
• Execute load bank testing for various operating conditions and duty cycles.
• Perform system-level validation activities.
• Verify genset operation under transient, overload, and fault conditions.

Performance & Reliability Validation

• Validate power output, fuel consumption, emissions, voltage regulation, and frequency stability.
• Evaluate cooling system, fuel system, exhaust system, and electrical system performance.
• Conduct reliability and durability testing to identify potential product weaknesses.
• Assess startability and operational performance under varying environmental conditions.

Data Acquisition & Analysis

• Monitor the configured data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
• Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
• Interpret Genset and electrical performance parameters.
• Document failures and recommend corrective actions.

Root Cause Investigation

• Investigate product issues identified during validation testing.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies.
• Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
• Verify effectiveness of design improvements through validation testing.

Regulatory & Compliance Testing

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support certification and homologation activities.
• Maintain proper test documentation and records for audits and customer requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers.
• Support new product development and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews and validation sign-off activities.
