Genset Testing and Validation Engineer
Test Planning & Execution
- Develop validation plans, test procedures, and test schedules for generator set programs.
- Conduct performance testing, endurance testing, durability testing, and environmental validation.
- Execute load bank testing for various operating conditions and duty cycles.
- Perform system-level validation activities.
- Verify genset operation under transient, overload, and fault conditions.
Performance & Reliability Validation
- Validate power output, fuel consumption, emissions, voltage regulation, and frequency stability.
- Evaluate cooling system, fuel system, exhaust system, and electrical system performance.
- Conduct reliability and durability testing to identify potential product weaknesses.
- Assess startability and operational performance under varying environmental conditions.
Data Acquisition & Analysis
- Monitor the configured data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
- Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
- Interpret Genset and electrical performance parameters.
- Document failures and recommend corrective actions.
Root Cause Investigation
- Investigate product issues identified during validation testing.
- Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
- Verify effectiveness of design improvements through validation testing.
Regulatory & Compliance Testing
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Support certification and homologation activities.
- Maintain proper test documentation and records for audits and customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers.
- Support new product development and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Participate in design reviews and validation sign-off activities.
