This role focuses on designing scalable backend solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, and supporting engineering teams through technical leadership and coaching, while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.What you’ll do Lead the technical design of backend applications, ensuring alignment with business and customer needsGuide implementation of business requirements based on approved design documentationProvide clear and structured reporting on delivery progress, risks, and recommendationsCoach and support development teams with technical guidance and problem-solving approachesSelect appropriate technologies, tools, and architectural patterns for solutionsManage multiple projects and ensure effective prioritisation of workstreamsConduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure high-quality deliverablesEnsure thorough unit testing, documentation, and maintainability of developed solutionsContribute to and own technical estimations across project phases, including RFPsFoster collaboration, ensuring tasks are aligned with team members’ capabilitiesDrive continuous improvement through innovation and implementation of new ideasSupport production systems, ensuring adherence to KPIs and service level requirementsWho you are Strong experience in backend software development with expertise in Java and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, etc.)Solid understanding of microservices architecture, SOA, and design patternsProficient in REST APIs, SOAP services, and integration approachesFamiliarity with databases including relational, NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and caching tools such as RedisHands-on knowledge of modern development tools including Git, Maven, Gradle, Docker, and KubernetesExperience with cloud technologies, particularly AWSStrong understanding of testing practices including unit testing, integration testing, and BDDKnowledge of messaging and streaming technologies such as KafkaAble to perform effective troubleshooting and performance tuningExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyDemonstrates accountability, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solvingRelevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalentApproximately 5+ years of relevant professional experienceNot a perfect fit?
