Citi's US Consumer Cards business is seeking a Senior Vice President, Network Partnerships to lead and maximize the strategic and financial value of Citi's relationships with Mastercard and Visa. In this highly visible role, you will sit at the intersection of commercial negotiation, product co-creation, and payments ecosystem strategy, shaping how Citi engages with its most critical network partners. Your work will directly influence Citi's competitive positioning in the rapidly evolving payments landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the senior relationship with Mastercard or Visa, serving as the primary escalation point for complex commercial and operational matters and ensuring partnership alignment at all levels.

  • Negotiate and manage high-profile network partnership deals, coordinating across Products, Finance, and Legal to deliver meaningful financial and strategic outcomes for Citi.

  • Oversee the full deal cycle from evaluation through execution, managing timelines, milestones, and accountability across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead the end-to-end co-creation lifecycle for new payment products and capabilities developed in partnership with Mastercard and Visa, from business case through commercial launch.

  • Monitor network contract performance and ensure Citi captures the full value of agreed obligations, escalating and resolving gaps as they arise.

  • Assess emerging developments across the payments ecosystem — including network-driven changes, legislation, and litigation — and develop actionable recommendations for Citi's response.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Products, Finance, Legal, and Operations to address new challenges and opportunities in the payments environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 10 or more years of experience in the payments industry, with demonstrated expertise across the card payments ecosystem and the commercial dynamics of its participants.

  • Ability to negotiate complex, high-value commercial agreements and manage the full deal lifecycle in a financial services environment.

  • Track record of delivering large-scale initiatives within complex, matrixed organizations, managing competing priorities and cross-functional dependencies.

  • Skilled at building and sustaining senior internal and external relationships to advance business objectives and resolve issues at pace.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information, identify business priorities, and translate them into clear recommendations and timely decisions.

  • Executive-level communication skills, including the ability to present complex topics clearly to senior leadership in written and verbal formats.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification.

  • Familiarity with the regulatory and litigation landscape affecting the card payments industry.

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
