Job Summary
Join Caterpillar's Electric Power Division as a Facilities Maintenance Team Lead, where you'll help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility systems and infrastructure. In this hands-on role, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, support contractors and vendors, and drive improvements in maintenance processes and documentation. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on a growing business while supporting critical facility operations.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate daily facility maintenance activities and maintenance priorities to support safe and efficient facility operations.

  • Lead and support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance efforts across facility systems and infrastructure.

  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for maintenance activities, facility support requests, contractors, and service providers.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, contractor activities, and resource requirements in partnership with facility leadership.

  • Support the maintenance and reliability of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building infrastructure.

  • Maintain accurate records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, asset information, and equipment history.

  • Coordinate facility inspections, permits, certifications, compliance activities, and associated documentation.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve maintenance reporting, documentation, and recordkeeping practices, including digitization and process improvement initiatives.

  • Manage maintenance inventory, spare parts, tools, and consumable materials to support ongoing operations.

  • Support facility projects, equipment relocations, office moves, and infrastructure improvement efforts.

  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Communicate effectively with employees, leadership, contractors, vendors, and service providers to resolve facility-related issues and support business needs.

  • Identify opportunities to improve facility reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

What You Will Have

  • Experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, building systems, or a related technical field.

  • Working knowledge of facility systems (including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure).

  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities, work priorities, or maintenance projects in a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or facility environment.

  • Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar maintenance management software.

  • Experience maintaining maintenance records, inspection documentation, work orders, or compliance-related documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and facility documentation.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance personnel, contractors, vendors, and business partners.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting facility operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems maintenance.

  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and third-party service providers.

  • Experience maintaining permits, certifications, inspections, and regulatory compliance records.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for reporting, tracking, and data management.

  • Experience improving, digitizing, or streamlining maintenance documentation and recordkeeping processes.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing equipment maintenance in addition to facility systems.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to occasionally lift parts up to 35 lbs. individually or up to 70 lbs. with a team lift

  • The ability to bend, reach, and squat while performing tasks

  • The ability to wear required personal protective equipment for assigned tasks

  • The ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

  • The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods while performing tasks

Additional Information

  • This position is aligned to 1st shift and primarily supports facility operations during normal business hours

  • Additional hours, including overtime, may be required to support maintenance activities, operational needs, project work, and facility emergencies (may include weekends/holidays)

  • Work location is typically a combination of warehouse and office settings.

Summary Pay Range:

$26.00 - $33.80

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
