Role and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
This role represents the full Samsung portfolio in the Carolinas builder market — including Dacor, Samsung's ultra-premium appliance brand — and is responsible for driving both distributor-led and direct builder relationships with production builders, custom home builders, and multi-family developers. This is a rare opportunity to represent two distinct and complementary brands in a high-growth market — Samsung, the world's #1 appliance brand by volume, and Dacor, its ultra-premium counterpart — across one of the fastest-growing residential construction markets in the Southeast.
The Account Manager – Builder Channel will oversee the implementation of all sales programs and pricing (quote management) with local market builder distributors. The role is accountable for achieving or exceeding annual sales and margin objectives for both the Samsung and Dacor brands. The position is responsible for training all inside distributor sales personnel and working with outside distributor sales personnel in closing new business opportunities with home builders, multi-family principals and remodeling companies. The AM has the responsibility to ensure all sales programs are known to distributor personnel and are leveraged to drive our sales in market. At times, the AM role will need to review Samsung's "order-to-cash" process with distributor administrative management to ensure compliance. Converts regional execution plans into local market actions with trade customers — with specific monthly goals and objectives.
This role will cover portions of both North and South Carolina.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for achieving current annual sales targets across the Samsung and Dacor portfolios, while positioning the business for continued growth in future years.
- Develop and manage direct relationships with production builders, custom builders, and multi-family principals — positioning Samsung and Dacor as the preferred appliance brands at the builder principal and purchasing level.
- Serve as the primary Samsung and Dacor brand ambassador with builder design studios, interior design teams, and purchasing departments to drive specification wins and protect installed business.
- Leverage the Dacor brand to penetrate the luxury custom home and high-end multi-family segments, collaborating with Dacor's dedicated product marketing and training teams where applicable.
- Enable distributor sales teams (inside and outside) to know and understand the Samsung and Dacor brands, value proposition, performance and features of our products and services.
- Along with distributor sales personnel, review products and programs with new builders, multi-family contacts, design centers and interior designers.
- Develop in-depth knowledge and expertise with regard to all new single and multi-family construction in the market, as well as builders and interior designers within the assigned territory.
- Provide competitive market intelligence feedback to the Regional Sales Director and National Sales Director.
- Identify business opportunities with distributor sales people and work with them to develop business relationships, project sales pipeline and close contracts.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales call plan with objectives and document all communications and committed actions to distributor personnel with consistent AM follow-through.
- Coordinate with other AMs on behalf of distributors to align on multi-market builder or out-of-market business opportunities, including both multi-family and single-family builder projects and communities.
- Participate in regular builder tracking meetings with the specification representatives.
