We are seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to support our Central Market Maternal-Fetal Medicine program, serving LDS Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, and Riverton Hospital.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced MFM physicians and sonographers in a highly specialized environment focused on advanced fetal imaging and high-risk obstetrical care.

• Benefits Eligible: No (PRN role)
• Shift Details: Clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
• No nights, weekends, or call
• Workdays vary based on department need
• Location: Central Market (LDS Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, Riverton Hospital)
• Must be willing to support all three locations
• Training Requirement: Must be able to attend 3+ days/week for approximately 6–9 weeks depending on experience and training needs.
• Ongoing Requirement: Must be available to work at least one shift per week after orientation to maintain competency.

Training Pathway Opportunities

Candidates who do not currently meet all Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sonographer qualifications may be considered under the Specialty Technologist in Training profile based on education, certification status, related experience, and departmental needs.

Examples may include:

• OB/GYN Sonographers seeking MFM specialization
• Ultrasound professionals with related experience and a strong interest in maternal-fetal medicine
• Sonography students nearing completion of training and eligibility requirements

Compensation, qualifications, and training expectations will be aligned with the job profile for which the selected candidate qualifies.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARDMS: Must be registered in OB/GYN or Fetal Echo
• ARDMS: Supports MFM research studies and meets AIUM detailed fetal anatomy exam standards (76811)
• Demonstrates ability to independently perform complex and challenging exams
• Subject matter expertise in advanced technologies and techniques
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of OB experience, including at least 1 year in MFM
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, not required)

Essential Functions

• Prepares patients and performs high‑quality MFM ultrasound exams following protocol

• Produces and documents complete, diagnostic images and ensures PACS transfer
• Maintains accuracy in documentation, coding, and exam workflows
• Follows safety, infection control, and equipment standards
• Participates in MFM training, quality initiatives, and process improvement

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
